O’Dea lies under oath

The Minister for Defence is facing calls for his resignation after he made a false statement in the High Court.

An Bord Snip Nua report published

An Bord Snip Nua was a group charged with recommending public sector cuts in these ‘economic times’ ….. well …. I’ve seen it all now:

Bail out the banks for billions and make ordinary Joe Soap, Joe Public and everyone else in the public sector pay for it.

Full reports are available through the RTE website … the Dept. of Finance website apparently can’t handle the extra traffic:

They sure did hit Education hard …. bastards.

This fair country of ours is fucked.

Where can I emigrate to?

Fianna Fáil dog attacking itself!

Fianna Fáil - the grab all party!

Not long more me thinks before Cowen and Co. will be saying good bye to Leinster House:

Taoiseach Brian Cowen emerged shell-shocked from a raucous meeting of Fianna Fail TDs and senators last week to be told that he is now presiding over a party even more fractious and split than it was during the era of Charles Haughey.

At Fianna Fail’s final parliamentary party before the summer recess, Mr Cowen had been expecting a relatively timid affair during which he would rally his party colleagues in advance of them spending 10 weeks among their angry constituents.

Plague of Election Posters

election_posters

The madness began on the 6th. Bloody posters and cable ties everywhere!

It’s a bit rich to have the ‘Greens’ in Government with the ‘Fuck ‘em All’ party and the condoning of this antiquated practise of vandalising our countryside.

Supplementary Budget

Feck.

I’m back and in striking form!

striking_form

I’m back from the brink. And in striking form!

The Education Minister Batt O’ Keeffe says it would be regrettable to see teachers taking to the streets to protest the Government’s public sector pension levy.

Minister Batt O’Keeffe’s comments follow Friday’s announcement from the three main teachers’ unions that they will be balloting their members on industrial action.

Union representatives have also urged their members to attend an ICTU protest rally which is taking place in Dublin on Saturday.

Minister O’ Keeffe is appealing to teachers to remember that the country is in a difficult and fraught financial state.

If balloted I will be prepared to go on the picket line.

The fat cats at the top, the bankers, the developers, the speculators and their equals creamed it during the Celtic Tiger years.

Cowen ~ you’re a fool and a bollix!

Biffo, the clown, Cowen has defended the Government’s decision to recapitalise Irish banks and he has said that the details will be finalised within the next few days.

The Bank of Ireland and Allied Irish Bank have reportedly agreed terms with Lenihan (Cowen’s lackluste Minister for Finance) for their recapitalisation.

The deal, worth €7bn, is designed to incentivise existing shareholders to invest in the banks (Yeah … like that’s going to happen).

Great ….. in today’s Irish Examiner it’s said that Bank of Ireland staff are getting a 3.5% pay rise.

The snake and the rabbit

Once upon a time, allegedly, in a nice little forest, there lived an orphaned bunny and an orphaned snake. By a surprising coincidence, both were blind from birth.

One day, the bunny was hopping through the forest, and the snake was slithering through the forest, when the bunny tripped over the snake and fell down. This, of course, knocked the snake about quite a bit.

“Oh, my,” said the bunny, “I’m terribly sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’ve been blind since birth, so, I can’t see where I’m going. In fact, since I’m also an orphan, I don’t even know what I am.”

Fuck You Cowen!

Fuck You Cowen!

I’m one of the public sector employees that you have hit with this new Pension Levy!

This levy is a serious reduction of my salary.

May Fianna Fáil crash, burn and die at the forthcoming local elections and at the national election that will inevitably arrive!

Gormless and his Green Pixies needn’t hold their breath waiting for my vote either. Harney and her has been party aren’t even worth talking about … so I won’t.

Tony Gregory T.D. ~ R.I.P

Tony Gregory T.D.

It is with deep shock and sadness that I learn of the death of Tony Gregory T.D.

He died today at the age of 61 after a long illness.

He was a champion of inner city Dublin. He was a bit of a rebel. He rarely (if ever) wore a tie in his capacity as a T.D.
